Terms of Service

The core rules that govern access to and use of Beam Social.

Last updated: 3 June 2026

1. Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Beam Social, including our website, creator channels, content tools, subscriptions, communities, live sessions, payments, and related services.

By creating an account, publishing content, purchasing access, subscribing to a creator, joining a community, or otherwise using Beam, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the platform.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must provide accurate account information and keep your login details secure. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account.

Users under the age of legal majority in their jurisdiction should use Beam only with appropriate parent or guardian consent. Beam may restrict or remove accounts where age, safety, fraud, or legal concerns arise.

3. Creator content and ownership

Creators retain ownership of the original content they upload or publish on Beam. By posting content, creators grant Beam a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, display, process, promote, transmit, and make that content available through the platform.

Creators are responsible for ensuring they have the rights, permissions, releases, licences, and consents necessary for all content they publish, including music, images, video, writing, likenesses, trademarks, and third-party materials.

4. Payments, subscriptions, and platform fees

Beam may allow creators to sell content passes, memberships, subscriptions, community access, live sessions, tips, or other paid experiences. Payment processing may be handled by third-party providers such as Paystack or similar services.

Beam may deduct platform fees, payment processing fees, taxes, reversals, refunds, chargebacks, or other applicable deductions before creator payouts are made.

5. User conduct

You agree not to use Beam to:

  • publish illegal, abusive, hateful, exploitative, or harmful content;
  • infringe intellectual property or privacy rights;
  • harass, threaten, impersonate, defraud, or mislead others;
  • circumvent paywalls, access controls, or content protection systems;
  • interfere with platform security, performance, or availability;
  • scrape, resell, or misuse platform data without permission.

6. Moderation and enforcement

Beam may review, restrict, remove, demonetize, suspend, or disable content, communities, creator features, payouts, or accounts where we reasonably believe platform rules, safety standards, legal obligations, or user rights may be affected.

Beam may act with or without notice where urgent safety, fraud, intellectual property, payment, or legal risks are involved.

7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Beam is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, specific earnings, audience growth, platform availability, or commercial outcomes for creators.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Beam will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or lost-profit damages arising from use of the platform.

8. Governing law

These Terms are intended to be governed by the laws of Kenya, unless a mandatory law in another jurisdiction applies. Disputes should first be addressed through good-faith communication with Beam before formal proceedings are pursued.

9. Changes to these Terms

Beam may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
